چکیده

This paper clescribes a computer-accessible catalog of sutxnillimcter, millimeter, and microwave spectral lines in the frequency range between O alld 10,000 GHz (i.e., wavelengths longer than 30 jm). The catalog can be used as a planning guide or as an aid in the identification and analysis of observed spectral lines in the interstellar medium, the Earth’s atmosphere, and the atmos~)heres of other planets. The information listed for each spectral line includes the frequel]cy and its estimated error, the intensity, the lower state elicrgy, aud the quantum number assignment. The catalog is continuously upclated and at present has information on 331 atomic and molecular species and includes a total of 1,845,866 lines. The catalog has been constructed by using theoretical least squares fits of pubIished spectra] lines to accepted molecular models. The associated predictions and their estimated errors are basecl upon the resultant fitted parameters and their covariance. Future versions of this catalog will add more atoms and molecules and update the present listings as new ciata appear. The catalog is available on-iine via anonymous FTP at spec.jpl.nasa.gov anti on the worl[i wicie web at llttl)://s])ec.j] )l.llasa.gc)\~.

Gas recognition with terahertz time-domain spectroscopy and spectral catalog: a preliminary study

The ability to detect and recognise a variety of gases under certain environmental conditions has significant potential impact in many areas: from hazardous gas detection in the industrial domain to physical sciences in academia. Gas sensing has long received attention with microwave and infrared spectroscopy. With many molecular resonances occurring in the THz (T-ray) range leading to simple, ...

Coherent Detector Arrays for Millimeter and Submillimeter Astronomy

Progress in many areas of astronomy requires large-area surveys and observations of extended objects. This includes the cosmic microwave background, nearby galaxies, the Milky Way, and regions of star-forming regions within our galaxy. The ability to carry out such studies is critically dependent on the development of affordable high-sensitivity focal plane arrays, for both spectral line and co...

The Galactic Dust as a Foreground to Cosmic Microwave Background Maps

We present results obtained with the PRONAOS balloon-borne experiment on interstellar dust. In particular, the submillimeter / millimeter spectral index is found to vary between roughly 1 and 2.5 on small scales (3.5′ resolution). This could have implications for component separation in Cosmic Microwave Background maps.

Ground-based millimeter and submillimeter-wave radiometry for the observation of the Arctic atmosphere

Microwave radiometers working at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths show enhanced sensitivity to low contents of water vapor and cloud liquid in the atmosphere with respect to conventional radiometers working at centimeter wavelengths. This enhanced sensitivity gives particular interest to high-frequency radiometers for the accurate observations in extreme dry and cold conditions typical ...

A radio catalog of Galactic HII regions for applications from decimeter to millimeter wavelengths

By collecting the information from 24 previously published lists and catalogs, we produce a comprehensive catalog (Master Catalog) of 1442 Galactic HII regions. For each object, we quote the original fluxes and diameters as well as the available information on radio line velocities, line widths and line temperatures and the errors on these quantitities. References to the original works are also...
